The Premier League Got Back Underway with Arsenal’s Victory Over Crystal Palace

The time has now come for which we have been waiting. The Premier League has resumed after the players’ holiday break and the numerous exhibition games played by the teams throughout their respective preseasons. The competition’s new season is kicked off by Arsenal and Crystal Palace. With a strong preseason and this summer’s additions of players like Gabriel Jesus, Zinchenko, and Saliba, Arsenal, who played extremely well last season, visited Crystal Palace.

Following their strong showings in very successful friendlies like the 4-0 victory against Chelsea and the 6-0 thrashing of Sevilla, Arteta decided to start the three new recruits. Martinelli scored the first goal of the 2022–2023 Premier League season during a spectacular first half for Arsenal, especially the opening 30 minutes.

From the corner, Saka crossed the ball to the far post, where Zinchenko, a fullback, headed it in at the near post. Martinelli, a Brazilian, was in the ideal position to head the ball into the goal without Guaita having a chance to react. Crystal Palace started to play better in the latter minutes of the first half, but it wasn’t enough to generate scoring opportunities.

Even though Crystal Palace started the second half better than Arsenal, they were unable to tie the score. Additionally, despite having difficulty moving the ball out of their own half in the closing minutes of the game, Saka received the ball inside the box on an attacking move and shot across the goal, but the ball deflected off Guehi’s head, resulting in an own goal.

After a great effort by Saliba and Ben White, who thwarted Zaha every time the winger received the ball, the defenders emerged as the game’s important players. Andersen consistently outperformed himself for the home team while having to defend Gabriel Jesus.
