According to a report from Canal Plus France, Real Madrid and Stade Rennais are in advanced talks over a transfer for midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, which was later verified by Fabrizio Romano. Camavinga would join Real Madrid for €30 million if the details are straightened out and the transaction becomes official.
While the transaction has not been confirmed, the fact that Camavinga’s contract expires in 2022 and Madrid has the financial means to complete the transfer makes it highly possible.
Los Blancos had been interested in Camavinga since last year, and sources in Spain suggested that the deal would be completed before the Covid-19 pandemic struck European football.
Camavinga, who will turn 19 this winter, is one of the most exciting prospects in football, despite the fact that he may not have a clear, obvious place in the current Real Madrid group, given that Modric, Kroos, and Valverde will be in the rotation ahead of him.
On Tuesday, the move is anticipated to be finalized.
Camavinga has been a long-time Madrid target, with previous manager Zinedine Zidane a long-time admirer of the midfielder who made his Ligue 1 debut at the age of 16.
In Real’s midfield, he is projected to eventually succeed Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
