At its Stream On event on Wednesday, Spotify announced the launch of a new interface resembling an Instagram or TikTok stream. The modification will alter how Spotify recommends music to customers by substituting music videos and other visual elements for its usual list of albums.

Album covers from the streaming service will be displayed at the top of the app’s feed, however they might be followed by an automatically playing podcast or music video. The user can choose the posted podcast or video to be taken to a website that is just organized around that portion.
According to a press statement from Spotify, the new user interface is “designed for deeper discovery and more meaningful interactions between artists and fans” and is “one of the biggest evolutions” to the app since its beginnings.

Starting today, the update will be sent out to all 500 million+ active Spotify customers. Users can expect to see music, podcast, and audiobook previews as well as enhanced discovery feeds that make it simple to access the song, playlist, or artist.
