“VIN 001 of the Edition 1 GMC HUMMER EV Pickup was auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson on March 27, 2021, for $2.5 million, with revenues benefiting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization founded to honor the memory of Sept. 11 first responder Stephen Siller.” The foundation constructs mortgage-free, accessible smart houses for the most severely injured veterans, as well as mortgage-free homes for Gold Star families and families of first responders slain in the line of duty.
GMC highlights a few most important features that makes the GMC Hummer EV special
4 Wheel Steer with CrabWalk – permits the rear and front wheels to steer at the same angle at low speeds, allowing the vehicle to move diagonally for even more mobility on difficult terrain.
Adaptive Air Suspension with Extract Mode – allows the suspension height to be raised roughly 6 inches (149 mm) to assist the GMC HUMMER EV in navigating harsh off-road scenarios such as rock clearance or fording water.
Watts to Freedom — a driver-selectable experience that unlocks the EV propulsion system’s full acceleration capacity, including GM-estimated 0-60-mph performance in about 3 seconds.
Super Cruise – a driver-assistance feature that allows for hands-free driving on more than 200,000 miles (322,000 km) of enabled roads – and a new automatic lane changing feature, in which the system can determine when a lane change is optimal and initiate the maneuver while adhering to signaling protocols.
