Directions
Clean And Cut The Vegetables.
Washing and chopping the veggies is the first stage in the preparation of efo-riro. The spinach or kale should be cleaned of any dirt or debris before being chopped coarsely and placed aside. Then, finely cut the tomatoes, red and green bell peppers, red and green scotch bonnet peppers, and onion. If you’d like, you can also include more vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
Prepare The Fish Or Meat (Optional)
Before to adding it to the soup, any meat or fish that is being used must be cooked. Any kind of meat or fish, including chicken, beef, or fish, is acceptable. Add salt and any additional seasonings to the meat or fish, then boil it in a pot until it is cooked.
Fry The Peppers And Onions
Heat the palm oil over medium heat in a different pot or deep frying pan. When the oil is hot, add the peppers and onions, chopped, and cook until tender and fragrant. To avoid burning the mixture, stir it occasionally.
Add The Stock Cubes And Ground Crayfish.
When the peppers and onions are tender, add the stock cubes and ground crayfish to the stew and stir well. This will contribute to improving the soup’s flavor.
Cook After Adding The Diced Tomatoes.
The chopped tomatoes should then be added to the stew and cooked until they are mushy and tender. To avoid burning the mixture, stir it occasionally.
The Chopped Veggies Are Added
Add the chopped veggies to the pot when the tomatoes have finished cooking and stir well. The vegetables should be soft but still have some crunch after cooking for 5 to 10 minutes with occasional tossing.
Add The Fish Or Meat (Optional)
You may now add any meat or fish you’re using to the saucepan and give it a good stir. Cook for a few minutes, or until the fish or meat is well heated.
